10th Anniversary of the death of Hjalmar Schacht: Ten years ago, at June 3rd, 1970, in the age of 93 years died in Munich/West -Germany the Germany finance politician Hjalmar Schacht (Hjalmar Schacht, picture). Schacht became in the year 1923 the Reichswahrungsminister and in this function he took part at the stabilization of the German currency. From 1924 till 1929 and again from 1933 till 1939 he was the President of the Reichsbank from 1934 till 1937 additional also the Reichsminister for Economy. in subject of resistance against Hitler Halmar Schacht got arrested and thrown into a KZ in 1944. By the International Court he got acquainted in 1946 but till 1948 he was arrested by the German justice. 1953 he founded a private sanatory in Duesseldorf/ West-Germany.
