To be at the head of his farmers: is the proud of the parson of Isenzwang, a tiny community in Upper Bavaria, Southern Germany, He and his farmers annually pass on horseback thru the little church of Saint Willibald. This religious custom dates back to the 14th century when a terrific pestilence killed horses and cows. An old story goes that the pestilence ended when the farmers found the way to Saint Willibald, and when they were encouraged by someone to ride thru the church, where they prayed for God's help.
