Description
Spanish Father deciphers the oldest gospel-Texts : The oldest texts of gospels ever found have now been deciphered by the Jesuit and expert of the classical philology, father Jose O'Callaghan (49) from Barcewona. As papyrus - scientists date the origin of the unknown texts between the years 30 to 50 after Christ, the deciphering of the gospale is very important. This seems to proof that the gospels of the new testament were written at a time Jesus was still alive or shortly after his dearth. Till now they were thought to have been written husndereds of years later. In 1955 the texts were found by a group old Beduins in a cavern in Qumran near the Dead Sea. Nine of the 17 tests have already been decipher by father O'Calleghan. They are written in Greek and belong to the gospel of Marcus. photo shows Jose O'Callaghan (49) with one of the deciphered gospel texts ( but it is not the original , as it is kept in the museu of Jerusalem.)

Photo measures 5.75 x 8.5 inches.
