Six - year - old Chosen to appear in "Gifted Child" Program: Six and a half year old Kathleen Beel, from Alton Estate, Putney, has been chosen to appear in a program about "the gifted child" in the BBC series Perspective which is screened on Thursday afternoons. The youngster, who has reading age of 14, taught herself chess, and reads avidly as well as writes poetry, was chosen from many contenders after producer Beryl Radley asked for applications on the air. Photo shows at the BBC Lime Grove Studios at the recording of the show to be telecast on December 28 : Kathleen Bell doing a crossword puzzle at the studio today.
