1955 Press Photo Snail Feast in Rome in the St. Giovanni Quarters

The Annual Rome ''Snail Feast'': The annual Saint Giovanni Fiesta'' was celebrated recently in the St. Giovanni quarters of Rome with a big feast of Snails. The inhabitants of the quarter set up tables in the street before the Church and ate thousands of snails washed down with wine. Never have snails moved faster. Photo shows Helping himself and others to mountains of snails one of his participants in the Snail Feast in Rome.
