Now it's Doorbells and Running water for the Bedoun. Tourists who went to see the Badouin tribesmen in Israel get a shock when they visit the Tel Sheva village in the Negev area . For instead of seeing the 'Lords of the desert ' mounted on their camels or living in their small , makeshift tents they see them living in modern houses, with electricity and running water and you're more likely to see an American car than a camel. Tel Sheva has 20 houses each with a living room, two bedrooms , kitchen , shower and and a courtyard where animals can be kept. One of the strangest things about the new way of life to the Bedouing is doorbells.
