Drugs find in garage 'Fortified like a band": The total amount of high quality cannabis r~~in seized during the "Operation Cyrill" raids in London and Cornwall on Monday was 4 1/2 tons, its street sale value would be about £10 million. The London one was found in a garage in station road, P~ng~, which chief Supt John Smith, head of Scotland Yard~ Drugs Squad described as "fortified almost as well as the Bank of England. The garage's windows were bricked up and the heavy wooden doors were steel-lined and secured with double padlocks. The first 2 1/4 ton haul was seized during an early morning operation near Polperro Cornwall, in which customs cutters chased a converted motor fishing vessel, Guilding Lights, out to sea before arresting it. The equal quantities of cannabis found in London and Cornwall suggest it was the regular load brought in by the 63- ton Guilding lights. Packets of cannabis found in both raids were rapped in decorative paper. Photo shows Det. Chief Supt. John Smith, head of Scotland Yard's Drug Squad, seen during a press conference over the big drug find's in London and Cornwall.
