1967 Press Photo Franco Torregiani Arrested-Murder Of Gabriele/Silvano Menegazzo

The supposed murders of the two brothers gunned down in a jewel robbery were arrested today by the "Caravanserai's" On the 17th of January the brothers Gabriele and Silvano Menegazzo, 19 and 23, Jewelry salesmen for their father's firm, were gunned down in the street in front of their home and robbed of two valises containing some $90.000 in jewellery. The gunmen escaped by car.Police throughout Italy launched the biggest hunt in decades for the gunmen. one of the them tentatively identified by eye-witness as wanted robber Leonardo Cimino, who shot and sounded two bank clerk sin a similar robbery last August. The Cimino's accomplice was the disertor Franco Torregiani. A friend of Cimino and Torregiani, Mario Loria, was arrested together them. Photo Shows Franco Torregiani, arrested by the "Carabinieri". Torreggiani did not return to his barracks the day of the robbery.
