1962 Press Photo Anthony Quinn is playing the role of Barabbas

"Barabbas" in Munich Anthony Quinn is playing the role of Barabbas in the film with the same title. After producer Dino de Laurentis had finished the picture he saw the painting of French painter Charles-Louis Muller and found out that the mask of the main actor is very similar to the face in the painting which also shows Barabbas. Besides Anthony Quinn there are playing Silvana Mangano, Vittirio Gassmann, Jack Palance, and other international stars. The film was made according to the book "Barabbas" by the Swedish author Par Lagerkvist who received the Nobel-prize for it.
