Ronnie Has a Giant Toad to Play With
A giant toad may not be every child's choice of a toy, but to 2 years old Ronnie White of Hornsey Rise, it is as familiar a toy as Teddy bears and stuffed rabbits are to other children. Ronnie is the son of Mr. Leonard A. White Secretary of the National Aquarists Society and a member of the British Herpetological Society and the toad affectionately known as "Belinda" is one of the queer pets he keeps round the house. "Belinda" is a giant toad from South America, she weighs 1 1/2 lbs and eats small rats. Her favorite spot to sit is inside a basin and Ronnie has great fun coaxing her out for a stroll round the dinning room table. From June 11th to the 13th little Ronnie will be without his pet for "Belinda" is being shown at the National Aquarium Exhibition which is being held on those three days at the Royal Horticultural Hall.
"Oh, Belinda, what a big eyes you've got!" says little Ronnie White as his father's Giant Toad appears out of the basin.
