Independence and a Loan.: Mr. Reginald Maudling, President of Britain's Board of Trade, and Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, Minister of Finance for the Federation of Nigeria, shake hands in London after the signing of an agreement whereby Britain lent Nigeria £12 million ($33,600,000). The loan is for goods and services needed for the development of the new African nation when with British co-operation it becomes independent on October 1.
