At the Trades Union Congress in Portsmouth yesterday, Mr. Clive Jenkins, joint general secretary of the Association of Scientific, Technical and Managerial Staffs, launched an attack on the idea of British entry to the Common Market before withdrawing an amendment that called for the abandonment of attempts to join the E.E.E.C.
