Election shocks for Mrs Gandhi.: Mrs Gandhi's ruling Congress Party, has suffered a series of shocks defeats from both the left and right in the early returns today from the week long Indian Elections. Between the Juan Sangh and the right-wing Svatantra Party, the Congress Party was having a difficult time in the Westeren desert State of Rajaasthan. Congress has won 25 of 50 State Assembly seats and ~~~~tinuation of the trend would open the way for a coalition state government. The Swan~antra party who's leader is Mr. C. Rajogopalachari, ~~ffered one major reversal however, with the defeat of Maharani Gaya~ri ~~~~ of Jaipur in her fight for a state assembly seat. Photo shows Mr. C. Rajagopalachari the Leader of the Swantantra Party which is doing well in the Indian Elections against Mrs Gandhi.
