Radio controlled doll "Rainbow" goes to Venice: Rainbow, the British-made radio doll, left London Airport today by air for Venice for the 1960 International Film Festival, where "The Artist", in which he plays the lead, will be one of the three productions chosen to represent British children's films. Miss Honoria Plesch, director and producer of the Rainbow series will accompany him. Rainbow, whose movements can be controlled by portable high frequency transmitter at distances up to 1 1/2 miles, is claimed to be the first full articulated radio doll in the world. Photo shows "Rainbow" - operated by Miss Honoria Plesch - pictured at London Airport before leaving for Venice today.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.

Photo is dated 7-21-1960.
