Father Christmas takes a break from Duty and where better than among the chimney pots.: For a chap who spends most of his time at the North Pole, it is perhaps not surprising that Father Christmas feels the heat more than somewhat when he emerges in the centrally heated grotto of a Birmingham department store. In fast, it is the heat which is the main draw back to the ephemeral business of father Christmasing and not the 1,000 children he sees each day. So Father Christmas goes up on the roof (where else) for a breather - it is there, among the chimneytops that a father Christmas can feel at home.
