Three men who where wrongfully sen to prison say "we sure police".: The three men who were pardoned on Saturday - after having spent two years in prison for a crime they did not commit - said that they are to reject the ex-grain payments totalling £1,000 offered by the Government - and will sure the Police for £5,000 each. The pardoned men are Leonard Richard Emery (30) of Ashford, Middlesex; Arthur Joseph Thompson (28) of York Road, Wandsworth and James Edward Powers (25) of Virginia water,Survey. They were convicted at Northants Assizes in January 1954 for attacking a policeman at Marlowe, Buck during a post office raid. Photo shows Leonard Emery (left) and James Edward Powers and the latter's wife celebrate their release at a Fulham Inn last night.
