Chinchilla farm in Munich
About two weeks ago breeder Josef Zettl opened the first chinchilla-farm in Europe. 20 animals came per plane to Munich in order to bring foreign currency for Germany under the expert care of the breeder of fur-bearing animals. According to their origin the chinchillas are rodents. They have the most expensive fur of the world. the value of the animals kept for breeding is 3.000.--DM per couple. JF they don't bring forth young within one year then they may be exchanged. the fur is sold for 300.-- DM . They need 200 to 250 furs for one fur-coat.
As Josef Zettl told there are now only nine of these expensive fur-coats. One has Joself Stalin's widow, one of the wife of Aga Khan and another the late Queen-mother Mary of England.
Joself Zettl's animals have numbers. the couple AH L 4 and AH K11 had their first young Munich. It is just three hours old. chinchillas are very cheap in feeding. One animal cost about10.-- DMarks per year. They have a daily bath in sand. they have young every 111 days.
The home of chinchillas are the Andes. the Inka-princess already decorated themselves with their furs. In early centuries chinchilla was the fur of kinds and it was strictly prohibited to the common people to have the furs manufactured,
