Live mink and chinchillas were on display this morning at the exhibition organised by the Fur Breeder's association at beaver house. photo shows "Poppet" wit her rosettes when she was voted champion female adult chinchilla at the show this morning. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. G. Plaister of wootton base-nett. (Chinchillas are only bred in this country for breeding purposes for export - mainly to the U.S.A on a pelt is valued at $27 - and it would take approx 150 - 180 for a coat. a pair of chinchillas - for breeding- cost $200.
