May 17th, 1971 Turkish earthquake kills 72 - The bodies of 72 people were recovered by rescue workers following last week's earthquake which struck South-Western Turkey. Worst hit was the mountain town of Burdur and surrounding villages. Photo Shows: View showing some of the wreckage caused by the earthquake in the Burdur area.
