Description
66 die in the worst disaster in the history of British football at Ibrox Park in Glasgow: 66 fans were killed and another 108 were in hospital early today after Britain's worst ever soccer disaster. It happened yesterday at Ibrox Park, Glasgow, after the traditional New Year game between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic. As the 80,000 fans were leaving the ground, somebody fell on the sloping exit terracing, others fell on top and it snowballed until a crush barrier collapsed. Most of those who died were trampled on and suffocated. Photo shows Jock Wallace the Glasgow Rangers coach, helps to carry one of the injured to a waiting ambulance after yesterday's soccer disaster in Glasgow.

Photo measures 10 x 7.5 inches.
