Restoration of the Painted Hall - Greenwich work will take two years; Work has started on the restoration of the Painted hall at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich a task that is expected to take about two years. The huge ceiling measures 105 ft by 46 ft. and was painted in the early part of the 18th century by Sir James Thenhill and for which he took about 20 years and received payment of ~1,100 Now the restoration work is expected to coat about ~20,000. Photo Shows General view inside the Painted Hall this morning as restorers work on the ceiling showing L-R; Mr. Williams; Mr. Stuart; Mr. Keevil; Mr. Blakke and MR. Mead.
