The students called the vast Hall the "Augean Stables" (one of the tasks given to Hercules). It was formerly the seat of the Earls of Huntingdon, and during the was housed German prisoners of war. Outside it looks ships shape - at a distance! The students job was to scrub it in preparation for the Hungarian refugees.
