1962 Press Photo Flying Squad Men Recover Stolen Painting

Flying Squad Men Recover Stolen Paintings. Flying Squad men made a 3a.m. raid on a house in New Barn Street, Plaistow, this morning, and recovered 35 paintings valued at £350,000. They had been stolen recently from the O'Hana Gallery, Mayfair. Later two men, John David Terry (30) a wholesaler of Lower Clapton, and William Bedford (30) of Hoxton, appeared at Marlborough Street Court- charged with receiving the paintings. Both men were remanded until Aug. 3rd. Photo Shows:- The premises in New Barn Street, Plaistow, where John David Terry, one of the accused, runs his wholesalers business. It was here that the stolen paintings were recovered this morning.
