Heathrow airport ringed by tanks and troops: London's Heathrow Airport was ringed by Troops and Tanks early today in a massive anti-terrorist alert. A defence Ministry spokesman said ''Army units were called in by Scotland Yard to aid civil community. The alert is expected to last for a least three days. Photo shows an armed trooper seen checking a tanker lorry as it tries to enter Heathrow Airport today.
