Sad incidents among Athens students were unfortunately repeated in Salonica where large groups of University students supporting politically the Union Center and Radical Union clashed among them, causing several casualties, which obliged the University Dean to ask the interference of the police in order to avoid more casualties among the students. Salonica police forces asked the students to disperse and when they reused, the gendarmes undertook the initiative and dispersed them using tear-bombs and fire brigade units.
