This is Brunhilde.. the virus of infantil paralysis type 1. It is this virus which will be fought against by the vaccination starting on Feb 5th in Bavaria. All children and young people aged 6 months to 18 years and the adults living together with them will take part in this vaccination in which you only have to swallow a little piece containing the vaccine matter. The Virus is called "Brunhilde" because of the name of a chimpanzee at which the virus was discovered first in 1939.
