"Miss Guernsey" Catamaran has World-Title pace.: "Miss Guernsey", an unconventional new catamaran powered by a single eight-litre American Mercruiser inboard engine and outdrive unit, delivered yesterday to Guernsey businessman Colin Banks, representative a bold challenge for the Offshore Powerboat Drivers' World Championship. The craft is nominally only a Class II entrant, but potentially Miss Guernsey is the world's fastest offshore powerboat with a 100 m.p.h. smooth-water capability. The Union Internationale Motonautique have yet to pronounce on the legality of turbo - charging - although two world championships events have already been raced - but Banks is confident that he will be allowed to supercharge Miss Guernsey' power output to over 700 horsepower. Photo shows The new catamaran Miss Guernsey on her way to her Channel Island owner.

Photo measures 9.5 x 7.25 inches.
