"SWAN UPPING" IN THE THAMES... The traditional Swan Upping commenced this morning on the River Thames.. The proceedings were directed by Mr. Richard Turk the 82 year old Swan Keeper of the Worshipful Company of Vintners.. Mr. Turk has carried out this task for the past 54 years - he is 82. His brother Mr. F. Tunk, the keeper of the Queen's swans - also took part. Keystone Photo Shows:- Scene on the Thames - near H.M.S. President the training ship this morning as Swan Upping commenced.
