Restricted election campaign in the Sudan : Robles from the "Sudanese people's liberation front " (Spla) hamper the Sudanese election campaign, which takes place since Tuesday for the first time in 18 years. The spla, which control d nearly two third of the black south refuses to take part in the parliamentary election. Our picture shows The spla "Lion-Battalion" few miles away from the battled town of Malkal in southern Sudan. the black African rebel-army counts today approximately 40'000 well equipped soldiers and has its logistic support in the Ethiopian border region. The Spla was supported by the Libyan leader Gaddafi until his main enemy president Numeriry of Sudan was overthrown last year. Nowadays the Spla is supplied with modern weapons by the Ethiopian military regime.
