1957 Press Photo US Navy Amphibious Control Craft

A new lighthouse radar has been developed for the navy by the rayon manufacturing company/. A Modified version on the commercial model, "Mariners Pathfinder 1500", the new radar will be installed aboard the navy's newest amphibious control craft. Rigged in construction,. the set will help land assault troops in an enemy beach in fog or other conditions of zero visibility without pinpoint accuracy and timing. By adapting this set the navy can economically place radar on landing Craft for the first time Target images displayed on the scope are needier-sharp with high definition.
