1957 Press Photo Heavy and Light Assault Floating Bridge

Annual Royal Engineers Demonstration: For the first time the annual Royal Engineers Demonstration was held this year at the School of Military Engineering, Chatham. A number of pieces of equipment such as the Heavy and Light Assault Floating Bridges were on view for the very first time. Photo shows The "Linked Ark" goes into a trench to bridge the gap in preparation for an assault crossing.
