New army transport equipment demonstrated. Lightweight trolley for land and water use.: A demonstration was held at Bulford camp Wiltshire, yesterday of three types of load carrying trolleys designed by the 1st Infantry Division to move heavy mortar detachments across country and over water obstacles. The trolley is in the form of tubular metal frame with a galvanised wire basket and fitted with two pneumatic tyred wheels which can be detached. they can be turn into water transport by the attaching of two bucyaney bags made of plastic and covered with canvas. These bags are inflated and fixed to the trolleys with the said of webbing straps. The trolleys can easily carry 3 to4 cwt rough country. Photo shows part of the new up to date equipment demonstrated today was this Igloo tent. The tent supports are in the form of inflatable tubes and the ton can be created in four minutes by one man. Designed for Headquarters use it weighs 36 lbs. In foreground is the ~~~ container and seen L-R: CPL D. Kneale wireless OP from isle of man and L/Cpl G. Bennete wireless Op. from cornwall.
