Demonstration of British Military Vehicles.: Many hundreds of visitors from this country and overseas, attended a special and unique demonstration of British military vehicles at the fighting vehicles Research and Development Establishment (F.V.R. E.) at Chartsey, Survey, today. Stages primarily to promote ~ales in this special channel of our export trade, the dislpay included little short of 100 different vehicles giving an immense compass of usage. Led and personnel carrying motor vehicles fr~~ 5 ~~~. t~~~~ tons carrying capacity, workshop lorries, mobile cranes, tankers, trailers up to 60 tons for tank transportation, and ~~~~ armoured cars are among the exhibits to be seen either on the display centre, or taking part in spectacular demonstrations of their qualities on test circuits. The event has been organised jointly by the Ministry of supply, to who specification the vehicle are built, and by the Society of motor Manufacturers and traders, certain of whose members are responsible for the carrying out of the production programme. Photo shows a one ton truck demonstrates its water sealing properties in a 6ft. water tank. This vehicle is a 1 ton load carrier having a high cross country perfomance. The following design feature are incorporated: fully independent suspension, built in waterproofing, fully tropicalised suspension, components, full electrical supression, an engine from the standardised "B" series range, provision for power take off and lashing points for airportability.
