Tanker Safety Course wins World Acclaim.: Ship owners throughout the world are showing increasing interest in a tanker safety course at the School of Navigation, Southampton, set up by British owners and the British Shipping Federation. It is the only one of its kind. Representatives of owners from Japan, the United States, Middle east and the Continent have taken the course, for which there is now a waiting list. Photo shows Tankermen listening to a lecture by Mr. P. Ward at the School of Navigation, Southampton. Beside him is a model of the British Crown, 28,000 tons deadweight, used in the Board of Trade inquiry into an explosion and fire which killed 29 men in the tanker in Augsust 1966.
