The Duke of Norfolk Unveils Memorial to Jesuit Poet in Westminster Abbey: The Duke of Norfolk, leading Roman Catholic Layman, today unveiled a memorial in Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey to Gerard Manley Hopkins, the poet and Jesuit priest who died in 1889. This is the first time that a Roman Catholic poet has been memorialised in the Abbey since Dryden, Poet Laureate to Charles II and James II Photo shows: The Duke of Norfolk (extreme right) looks on as Mr. L. Handley - Derry a great nephew of the poet, lays a wreath on the memorial tablet after the unveiling ceremony in the Abbey today.
