Description
Anti-bomb demonstration in Trafalgar Square goes on despite Police Ban: Hundreds of ban-the bomb demonstrators were being arrested by police in Trafalgar Square this afternoon as the Committee of 100 of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament staged its largest demonstration - the one that had been banned by the police. It was estimated that more than 10,000 persons jammed the square and sat down in protest against the Government's defence policy. Photo shows police taking away one of the sit-down demonstrators - who, hanging limp, drags his feet.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 09-09-1961.
