July, 1975, New York City â In Macyâs Department Store, the number of articles brought into the fitting room is written on a slip of paper and the slip is then timed and dated with a time clock (on table at right). OPS: Attendant checking customers merchandise with slip (in hand) as he leaves the fitting room.
