Introducing The "Autovista"... New Type of Automatic Fuel Dispenser by B.P...
A revolutionary new system for dispensing fuels at Service Stations - was demonstrated to the press this morning by British Petroleum Company - at Leavesden, Hertfordshire... The new system is designed by BP and is known as "Autovista"... The car is served with which ever grade of petrol is required - including 'two strokes' or Diesel - to the exact amount - controlled by an electronic circuit - which is preset... The driver can see on the automatic dial - the exact amount - cost etc... of the fuel being supplied - so that he can - if he cares - ask for fuel to a prescribed amount - and when that cost is reached - or alternatively quantity is reached the apparatus is automatically cut off. This eliminates the waiting for change etc... The new unit can supply fuel at the rate of upto 15 gals per minute... The unite demonstrated today is designed for use in Germany - where it will soon be seen.
