Group Captain Townsend Prepares For 60,000 Mile Round The World Car ~~~~~: Group Captain Townsend has just completed a course of intensive training in a "man-made-Jungle" at the Rover Car Factory - Birmingham - in readiness for his 60,000 mile trip round the world. He learned how to get out of difficulties with his Land Rover - with the aid of a special wingh fitted to the front of the car. He also learned how to bury his spare wheel in the sand - so that it would make an "anchor" for the winch - should he need it in the middle of the desert. Now, according to the Car Company experts - he "knows his vehicle - and is ready for the hazards of a 60,000 mile journey". Photo shows Group Captain Townsend sits on the bonnet of his Land Rover - as the winch operates to haul the vehicle out of a tough spot - in the "Man-Made-Jungle".

Photo measures 10.25 x 8 inches.
