The first ceremony for the Holy Year is the 'recognation of the Holy Gate. an old tradition to find the objects that, at the closing of each Jubiles the pope lays in the center of the famous place, has had taken place today in the St. Peter Basilica. Mons. Giacomo Martin has found the golden, silver and bronze medals that the Pope Pius XII put in a casket the 24 Dec 1950 when the holy gate was walled up. Photo shows the medals found during the ceremony.
