London's Emergency Flood Warning Scheme. London's flood warning system opened with the arrival of the season's first high tides, Whenever danger threatens two engineers will go on round-the-clock duty at the Ministry of Agriculture in London to alert police, local authorities and emergency services. Keystone Photo Shows:- Mr. K.C. Noble, Senior Engineer, Flood Room, seen with a large-scale map of the Thames, showing shaded areas on map which are the danger points, and the pins signify the positions of "air raid" alarm which will give warning in an emergency.
