German-American festival of Rifle-men in garmisch. the first German - American festival of rifle -man with fireares was held in garmisch on september 12th and 13th, 1953. For this purpose the American army placed at the dis postal of the rifle-man 10.000 cartridges. all types of rifles were there, also theses who had been hidden since the end of he war. They were shooting st distance of 130 meters. freehand-shooting on targets, miniature-rifle shooting and pistola, but also clay - pigeon shooting. representatives of wall known Bavarian rifle men clubs, American officer and g.i.s had their noble contest during which they also drank quite a lot of beer and coca-cola. when the targets were no more to be seen in the darkness then the shooting was stopped. Besides there was also a contest of German and American anglers at the same occasion. There they were showing how far they could throw the angle and also throwing the angle into a fixed target etc.
