The new lion terraces at the London Zoo: The new Lion Terraces which is a complex of houses, enclosures and gardens-replace he old lion house, the home for the last 100 years of the lions, tigers and other big cats. The cost of the project has been met from the capital grant made by H.M. The Queen's Government in 1970 and a gift of 2000,000 from Sir Charles Clore, one of the Society's greatest benefactors. Last night the Duke of Edinburgh, President of the Zoological Society of London, received H.M. The Queen the society's Patron, at the London Zoo when she attended a reception to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Zoological Society of London.
