Home Office Fingerprint Scheme. If the Home Office decide to adopt a scheme, now being studied, for the compulsory fingerprinting of every adult in Britain, the fingerprint will be in these cabinets - or ones like them. And here is the man who will have his finger on the prints: Chief Superintendent John Godsell, who, it was announced yesterday, is to become fingerprint officer attached to the research and planning branch of the Home Office. behind him in Scotland Yard's fingerprint room, is Commander Ernest Millen, head of the C.I.D. at Scotland Yard.
