Hidden Police TV Camera Fails To Spot Jewel Thieves In Hatton Garden Raid: TV cameras were installed at Hatton Garden, London's diamond market, two years ago to spot thieves. But yesterday when a gang made a ~50,000 raid the camera was switched off. It only operates at night. The thieves got into the jewellers in Cross Street by pretending to be detective searching for stolen gold. Then they tied up the staff and took the jewels. Photo shows The police "crime spy" TV camera looks down on the scene of the raid - but it was not switched on during the time of the robbery.
