Police hunt for the vanished wife of London Newspaper Director: Police with tracker dogs were today searching Wimbledon Common, for clues to the mysterious disappearance of the wife of a London newspaper director. Fears increased that Mrs. Muriel Mckay, 55 years old wife of Mr. Alex Mckay, the deputy chairman of the News of the World, had been kidnapped. She is believed to have been taken from her home in Arthur Road, Wimbledon, at knife-point yesterday afternoon. Photo shows police set off to search Wimbledon Common this morning, in the hunt for clues to the mysterious disappearance of Mrs. Muriel Mckay.
