1965 Press Photo 11 Women Become Traffic Wardens In London For 1st Time

Women Traffic wardens for the City of London.: On Monday Oct 25th eleven women start work in the city as London's first women traffic wardens. For two weeks the recruits have been trained in publicas well as traffic regulations. One of their instructions was: "never become involved in aguments with motorists". They have been learning all about the job at Bishopsgate Police station. Photo shows Mrs. Ethel Hall of Middlesborough learning how to operate a parking meter at the instruction class.
