1966 Press Photo Israeli Police Guest Edna Avivi On Point Duty Manchester Street

Edna goes on point duty: Teenager Edna Avivi went on point duty in a city street on Monday (March 28 ). Watched over by Constable William Murphy, Edna, an Israeli policeman took charge of a busty junction in Manchester's Piccadilly. Edna is visiting Manchester with an Israelli Government sponsored exhibition, designed to promote the sale of their products. After her stint on point duty she said: ''It was very interesting, and people were extremely pleasant and I talked to a few - of them have been shoteret, a policewoman in Tel Aviv for the past seven months. ''I was thrilled when I was asked to come on the exhibition tour in Britain." Photo shows Edna Avivi pictured on point duty in Manchester.
