Frost-Enchantment: in spring the danger of frost is one of the most feared by the peasants, for the sudden depth of the temperature can destroy thousands of plants in one night. The best method to fight the dangers of frost is to pour water on the plants before the night fall, and when it gets very cold, the water on the plants freezes and so gives protection to the tender plant. Not only is this a effective protection, but also a enchanting spectacle, as our picture of a frozen apricot tree in the Wallis shows.
