An "artist workshop"... was installed in the winter months in St. Jacob's church in Rothenburg on Tauber. By order of the Munich Ministry of Monumental Attention a team of experts started on the second part of the restoration work with the world-famous "Heilig-Blut-Altar" by Tilman Riemenschneider. Several precious figures of the altar shrine were overhauled already in winter 1963/64. Till the Ascension Day on the 27th May, consequently in time before the long vacations, will the altar, that is frequented and admired by strangers, be rebuilt, not at its previous stand though, but in the "Hi. Blutkapelle" in the gallery of the west choir, in the place, where Tilman Riemenschneider from the very first had wished his opus to be.

Photo measures 8.5 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 04-04-1965.
